Fishing Report 4/30
Dry fly fishing has continued to be consistent and with a little help from the weather, it should be decent through the beginning of May. There is still some Skwalas kicking around but the fish have really started to key in on March Browns and Baetis in the clouds. Throwing a Skwala dry with a nymph dropper in the morning is still a go to and switching to either a single Skwala dry or even better a single March Brown in the afternoon should get the fish moving.
The Blackfoot is off color but there is still plenty of fish to be had. Throw streamers or nymphs in the softer water. This is one of the more productive fisheries around when it turns off color. Not ideal by any means but you will probably have it to yourself and will produce some fish.
The Clark is still a little off color but nothing that should deter you from fishing this. We have been on this river a lot lately and from the top end of the river to the lower end below town has been fishing good. Streamers and nymphs in the morning and March Browns and in the afternoon has been our go to. Still some skawalas kicking around and Baetis fishing has been good in the clouds.
Still running clear and a good level to fish. Skwalas are still hanging on and March Browns have kept the fish busy in between. With these levels it is a good option for wade fishing or floating. Fish Subsurface in the morning and switch to dries in the afternoon.
