Bitterroot
We couldn’t of asked for better conditions this week for fishing for the Bitterroot River. The water level has came back down to average flows and the bugs and fish are both cooperating. We have seen a lot more mayflies on these cloudy days such as March Browns and BWO’s but the fish seem to be eating the Skwala just fine. The second half of the day is best but even the late morning is starting to produce If you love streamer fishing then this is also a great time for streamers. Fish them slow and low.
Blackfoot
The Blackfoot River is starting to turn greenish after the bump in flows the last few weeks. While the fishing isn’t about numbers up there right now, it can produce some big fish this time of year. Streamers and deep nymph rigs are the way to go. Focus on the inside seems and slower water.
Clark Fork
The Clark Fork River is slowly clearing up and with a little help from the weather, this could be a solid option in the coming week.
Rock Creek
We are starting to see a lot more bugs on Rock Creek this last week and fish is improving everyday. Skwala’s, Little Black Stones and March Browns are the main focus right now. Fish streamers and nymphs early in the day and switch over to a big dry for the second half of the day regardless if you see fish rise or not. Some of the best fishing of the year can be had up here right now.
For the month of April we are offering full day guided trips for $395 for two people.
Come enjoy a day on the water during our favorite time of year.
