Bitterroot
The Bitterroot is one of the most consistent dry fly options right now. The middle to upper sections have been the best option but the lower has been good and should continue to get better and better in the upcoming week. The hatches right now include Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, Green Drakes and Caddis in the evenings. Our go to rig has been a Golden Stone with smaller nymphs tied on the jig hook as your dropper.
Blackfoot
The Blackfoot is fishing great right now. Throwing dries all day has been very productive. Drop a smaller jig nymph of the back and double your chances. There’s still a few Salmon Flies kicking around but the main hatches right now Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, Green Drakes and Caddis in the evenings. Streamer fishing has been very productive as well. Mornings and late evenings have been great but mid day is still fishing good.
Clark Fork
The Clark fork from top to bottom is now a great option. The evening Caddis has been spectacular and a Jig Hares Ear for the Caddis Pupa mid afternoon has been our go to fly. The hatches right now include Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, Green Drakes and Caddis in the evenings. Don’t Hesitate to start throwing Hopper droppers or any other terrestrials.
Rock Creek
Rock Creek has continued to fish great. The flows are finally to a point where it is easier to wade fish. The hatches right now include Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, Green Drakes and Caddis in the evenings
