Bitterroot River

The Bitterroot river is a great option with flows dropping to a wade fish manageable level and should be great option for the rest of the season. Our guides have been on most of the stretches this last week from the top to the bottom. Hatches consist of PMD’s, Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies and Hoppers. There’s also some good caddis and PED hatches in the evening.

Blackfoot River

The Blackfoot River has been consistent in the mornings and evenings with a midday lull on most days. Hopper dropper has been our go to with the dry working great in the morning and the dropper keeping you in action during the midday lull. We are starting to see a few Spruce Moths fluttering around but fish haven’t keyed in on them yet. The tube hatch is out in full force on the lower end so mornings and evenings are the time to be on the lower stretches.

Clark Fork River

The Clark Fork River dry fly fishing has been great in the morning and evening with a slow period midday. Hatches of PMD’s, Yellow Sallies, Goldens, Hoppers, PED’s and Caddis. Hopper dropper has been our go to rig but keep your eye out in the morning for fish sipping PMD’s.

Rock Creek

Rock Creek fly fishing continues to produce some great fishing with the lower then average water temps for this time of year and higher then average flow. Rock Creek is a good level for wade fisherman and should continue to fish well for the rest of the season. Hatches consist of Yellow Sallies, Spruce Moths, Hoppers, PMD’s and still a few Golden Stones around.
