Bitterroot River
The Bitterroot river fly fishing continues to be decent even with higher then average flows. The middle and upper end has been the most consistent and the lower is coming around. Golden Stones, Green Drakes, Yellow Sallies and PMD’s are all on the menu. This week the weather forecast is calling for mixed days of clouds and bright sun. Focus on Mayflies on the cloudy days like Green Drakes and PMD’s, and Stoneflies like Goldens and Sallies in the sun. The water levels are dropping day by day and should continue to fish well.

Blackfoot River
The Blackfoot River fly fishing continues to produce all day for the dry fly anglers. Streamer fishing has been great and should continue to produce big fish for the near future. There are still some big Salmon Flies hatching on the upper stretches and Golden Stones throughout the system. Green Drakes and PMD’s should pop too with the clouds in the upcoming weather forecast. There has also been some great Caddis hatches in the evening. The tuber hatch is starting to pop on the lower end but with the higher then average flows and cool water has kept them at bay.

Clark Fork River
The Clark Fork River fly fishing is starting to turn the corner on the upper stretches and we expect the lower to start fishing by end of the week. Golden Stones, Green Drakes, Yellow Sallies and PMD’s are all hatching right now.

Rock Creek
Rock Creek fly fishing has been great lately. The flows are still high but is starting to be at a manageable level for wade fisherman. Hatches consist of Golden Stones and Yellow Sallies in the sun, and Green Drakes and PMD’s in the clouds. Water temperatures are looking great and should continue to fish great all summer at this rate.
