Short and Sweet

The next two days look to be extremely hot. Temps in the triple digits. If you are going to get outside and go fishing, go early or go late.

The Fishing on the Middle Bitterroot [Tucker to Florence]  yesterday was good early. PMD’s were out in force and the trout were eating them. They were getting picky as the morning got later. Then they turned off the mayflies like a switch was flipped. In the early morning they were eating a size 14 purple haze like it was going out of style. Once that sun got high and warmed the water the fishing shut down. Get out early if you want to throw a dry fly. Deep Deep nymphing was the ticket later in the day. The fastest deepest water you can find.
