Bitterroot River
The Bitterroot river fly fishing has been good lately with hatches that consist of PMD’s, Yellow Sallies, Golden Stones and a few Hoppers starting to show up. The flows are still above average which makes the wade fishing a bit tougher but there is still plenty of good wade opportunities on the upper stretches and the West and East Fork. Our boats have mostly been on the middle to upper stretches and a few on the lower too. The Bitterroot should continue to fish better and better each day as the flows drop.

Blackfoot River
The Blackfoot River fly fishing has been great lately with a smorgasbord board of hatches including PMD’s, Yellow Sallies, Golden Stones, Hoppers and some great evening Caddis hatches. Flows are still a little bit above average but clarity is good and should continue to fish well through July. Streamer fishing has been productive early to mid morning and some great dry fly fishing throughout the day.

Clark Fork River
The Clark Fork River fly fishing is picking up throughout the system. Our Missoula fly fishing guides have started fishing dries this week and we’ve been hearing some great reports from them. PMD’s, Golden Stones, Yellow Sallies, Hoppers and Caddis in the evening has been the name of the game. With flows dropping and water clearing, the Clark Fork should be a great option for the rest of July.

Rock Creek
Rock Creek fly fishing is a great option this time of year but flows are still twice the average which is making wade fishing a little tougher. The upper stretches have less water and more wade friendly but the lower end is still a good option. Focus on Golden Stones, PMD’s, Yellow Sallies and Hoppers. Rock Creek should be a great option for the rest of the summer with the higher then average flows.
