Top 4 Yellow Sally Patterns

Mangler sally

The Mangler Sally is by far our most productive Yellow Sally fly pattern. This pattern is low profile with the ability to float well with a wrapped foam body and foam post to keep it on top. We carry many different kinds of Yellow Sally flies, but this one is a our top pattern.

The Stubby Chubby in Yellow is a great all around attractor pattern, but it really shines as a Yellow Sally fly pattern. The large sizes in Yellow and Gold also fish great for Golden Stones. The 2mm foam creates great floatability and the Trigger Point post makes for an easy to see, high floating fly.

Iron Sally

The Iron Sally Jig nymph gets down fast with it’s tungsten bead and gets to where the fish are quickly. This fly is great for using as a dropper, indicator rig or euro nymphing. As like all jig nymphs, the hook point rides up which helps this fly snag the bottom less. It’s important to have a variety of nymph Yellow Sally fly patterns in different sink rates, which is why every angler should have these in their fly box.

  • Tail: Light Yellow/Cream Biots
