Carlson’s Nemoura

Designed by Andy Carlsson, a Bitterroot river guide who also invented the Purple Haze, this fly is almost a perfect imitation of the Nemoura returning to lay her eggs. One of the most consistent Nemoura dry flies. It also works on the Clark Fork River, Rock Creek and throughout Montana wherever Nemouras are found.

  • Hook:  3XL Curved Shank Size 16
  • Thread:  Benecchi 12/0 Black
  • Egg Sac: 2mm Black Foam cut thin
  • Body:  Black Uni-Stretch
  • Wing:  Elk Mane, 2 times the length of the body
  • Hackle: Grizzly Hackle, 1 size larger, cut flat on bottom
